Janet Mary Robinson is a professional artist and illustrator who works in a variety of media, inspired by Janet paintingcolour, light, mood and character. She specialises in the portrayal of living things and the natural world; animals, plants, people & places.

Originally from Fife, Scotland, Janet moved to the NW of England to study Scientific and Natural History Illustration (BA Hons) at Blackpool & the Fylde School of Art, and later, an MSc in Ecology at Lancaster University. She currently lives near Lancaster.

Since 2005 Janet has been involved with several art based environmental education projects in Madagascar, and has visited the country twice. Janet was awarded a Silver-Gilt Medal from the RHS for a collection of botanical artwork exhibited at BBC Gardeners' World Live in Birmingham, June 2010.
